Invictus

Invictus, a very vibrant and woody fresh scent that came out in 2013 is not new but worth a review, is sharp, bold, and daring, for the young adventurous male. This scent gives Aquatic vibes because of the sharpness in the heart note but it is a heroic woody fresh scent with a vibrant citrus note.

This scent would very much appeal to the younger men who like aquatics but don’t want to commit to them because they are pretty seasonal whereas you could get away with Invictus all year if worn thoughtfully. The dry down is better than the scent itself.
This scent is fresh and makes me think of young, stunningly chiseled men. This young man is confident, self assured and kind of free spirited but grounded in the cologne he is in. Reviews suggest this is better for younger men and while I agree, a certain older gentleman could wear this easily. It gives high octane energy when you first spritz it due to the vibrancy of the grapefruit and Mandarin Orange and if that is a quality you don’t possess, this cologne will betray you because it gives high energy fragrance for men.

This is an evening scent in my opinion but could work during the day if you have a high end high octane job that requires you to appear confident and assured of yourself. I am sure you can smell it a mile away. It smells like a beautiful white confident smile if that makes sense. I’m sure it doesn’t but understand that I review based on their level of seduction and this guy is smooth, uncommittable and there for the moment. He is quick if that makes sense. He won’t be around in the morning but you would have enjoyed your night.

But needless to say it still smells great if you’re young and a daredevil and out having a good time and enjoying the nightlife.

Hues of Blue by Bath and Body Works with notes of Mandarin, Crisp Ocean Air and Clean Musk offering that same clear, blue water type of scent. This definitely is a go to if you like aquatic men’s cologne. It is also fresh smelling but the musk does take over after so long. It lasts a good couple of hours so you might want to carry it around or get the mist as an accompaniment so you can layer the scents on your clothes as opposed to your skin.

On That Note

The top notes of Invictus are loud and proud standing out for a long time before you get to the deep dry down of the woody notes of Guaiac and the patchouli. The Bay Leaf and Jasmine are fleeting leaving a desire for more. It is arrogant and playful if I didn’t say more.
