A Rose Is Still A Rose
The rose is a universal symbol of love; whether it is for friends or lovers, there’s a specific rose color for it. Roses symbolize beauty, purity, emotional depth and spiritual growth and has been thought to be associated with the goddesses of beauty and love Aphrodite/Greece and Venus/Rome. In modern cultures we use roses for weddings, to show love and appreciation, anniversaries and ways to show affection or admiration. Roses have been used in art, paintings and sculptures and no matter where you see it a rose is just something to be admired for its beauty. And, if you are like me, you admire the rose for an entirely different…

Life in Balance
New Year’s always comes with resolutions and promises — that this will finally be the year you make the change you swore you’d make last year. You set restrictions and finely tuned goals, only to forget about them three or four months in. Some people drop them even earlier, because honestly, who expects to build a brand‑new routine they’ve never practiced and get it right one hundred percent of the time? It’s not realistic. And half the time, it’s barely the end of summer and the new year isn’t even here yet. So you tell yourself you’ll wait until then. But if I’ve learned anything these past few years, it’s…

Choosing the Right Formula
With cooler, drier air about to make its way in, choosing the right formula will be key to keeping clean, moisturized, and health skin. Washing your face is the first step to a clean and clear complexion because it works out all of the dirt and oil that accumulates on and in the pores of skin. But you don’t want to choose the wrong formula when summer is exchanged for dry, cold temperatures and blistering cold wind. Mastering the Method That’s Right for You Cleansing your face at least twice a day is recommended, once in the morning and once in the evening but your schedule may be different. The…

Blue Crush Body Mist by Victoria’s Secret PINK
Blue Crush Body Mist by Victoria’s Secret PINK does smell like snack and it’s my favorite scent from the Retro Summer collection. These “beachy-boardwalk scents” smell light and refreshing and are not overpowered by the smell of alcohol so buyer beware of the softness of the scent. The notes of Blue Crush are Juicy Berry, Blue Razz Slushie and Rock Candy for a sweetness that hints at a little summer crush. Of all the scents this one is my favorite next to the Bubble Gum Beach but I’ll get to that. Blue Crush is lightly sweet and the first sniff does smell slightly like the blue flavored syrup from those…

Bubble Gum Beach Body Mist by Victoria’s Secret PINK
I really wanted Bubble Gum Beach Body Mist by Victoria’s Secret PINK to be my fave because it was pink of course but the dry down didn’t live up to my expectations but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t still like it and would want to stock up on more. This is a summer hit! While I wanted it to lean more into the Strawberry Taffy for a gourmand delight, the other note of Pink Sherbet isn’t on the tip of my nostrils either. While I absolutely love the scent, don’t go in expecting ice cream or taffy nor strawberry if that makes sense. This one doesn’t do…

Cherry Girl Body Mist by Victoria’s Secret PINK
Cherry Girl Body Mist by Victoria’s Secret PINK starts off smelling a bit generic and like alcohol but it’s not easy to duplicate the scent of cherry to take it easy on them. The scent isn’t so much cherry as it is cherry with lots of whipped cream on the dry down. Like the others it is very soft and while you’d think wild cherry this one isn’t that. Think Maraschino Cherry, sweet and generic. Because the scent is the most unidentifiable of the four it is my absolute least favorite because it doesn’t remind me of anything at all. I bet many would argue me down because it still…

Waffle Cone Body Mist by Victoria’s Secret PINK
Waffle Cone Body Mist by Victoria’s Secret PINK is probably the closest one to an actual gourmand with the scent notes of Sugared Sprinkles, Vanilla Cream, and Fried Dough. It smells pretty good and is the strongest of all four of the scents which for those who like things a little louder will benefit. Waffle Cone is not as soft and has a sharper beginning projection and sillage. Waffle Cone is the one that is likely to require the least amount of reapplying. I don’t pick up much on the Fried Dough but I do imagine what I think I smell is the Sugar Sprinkles and Vanilla Cream. This scent…

Fruity Musk Fragrance Mist
Fruity Musk by Bath & Body Works in my opinion is the youthful one of the group. This one can be worn by younger women and even the young little ladies too. The dry down is very different from the original spritz which is loud and vibrant and filled with berry cheer. It is literally the best! I love this scent but it’s not as exciting on the dry down which is much weaker and that can be disheartening. The strong scent of alcohol can be smelled with this spray but the good news is that upon the dry down you don’t smell that one bit. It’s quite pretty and…
